Located in nearby Guntersville, Honeycomb Trail is an approximately 9 mile mostly out-and-back trail located next to the Honeycomb Campground operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Recent improvements by the crew from Barry Smith Trails make this a must-do if you’re in the Guntersville area!
Five bluff overlooks await you on this trail and there are lots of chances to explore the lake’s edge. There will also be ample opportunities to dip your toes in one of the many spring-fed creeks this trail encounters. Watch for bald eagles and ospreys. Coming soon: signage that explains the historic significance of this area. Trail is located off Hwy. 431 about 26 miles south of Huntsville, Alabama, or 18 miles north of Guntersville, Alabama, at Guntersville Dam. Secondary trailhead is located just before entering Honeycomb Campground on Hwy. 431.
